Help make clean water a right for everyone in Florida
Right now, another dedicated coalition seeks to amend the Florida state constitution in order to enshrine clean water as legally protected right. Passing this citizen-led initiative will give individuals and organizations like W.A.R. a vital tool in court battles against threats to water supplies throughout Florida.
This effort is ambitious AND time sensitive. From the Florida Right To Clean Water website:
We need to collect and verify about 900,000 petition signatures by the end of November 2023, so they can be counted before February 2024, to qualify for the ballot later that year. Every petition needs to be processed through the campaign (either through our headquarters in Fort Myers or by regional ambassadors throughout the state) and delivered by a campaign agent to respective county supervisors of elections.
