OUR ORIGINS
Founded in 1984 when a group of residents living along the lower Withlacoochee River banded together to fight our first battle. Since then, we've taken on multiple challenges with the goal of repairing and preserving one of Florida's Outstanding Waterways.

W.A.R. is driven by the deep commitment of its members. Some of these individuals go the extra mile by serving on our Board of Directors.

Relationships are critical to W.A.R.’s operations. Many groups work in tandem with us to plan and implement restoration projects. All this work is made possible through grants and the generosity of donors.
W.A.R. is pursuing support from local and state government to implement recommendations from an eight-year study of water quality on the Lower Withlacoochee River. Recommendations are similar to older studies performed by SWFWMD dating back to 1989. We must restore the flow.
